Terms & Conditions of Entry 2021

These Event Terms (Terms) govern your attendance at the 2021 Smart Energy Conference and Exhibition held by the Smart Energy Council (Events). It is your responsibility to review these Terms prior to entry of the event. By entering the event you agree to be bound by these Terms. We reserve the right to amend these Terms at any time and will provide the most recent version on our website.

 

Throughout these Terms, the terms “Smart Energy Council”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to the Smart Energy Council and its associated entities, and “you” refers to the individual or business attending the event.

 

Event Conduct 

  1. You are expected to behave in a professional and appropriate manner at all times during the event. We reserve the right to refuse entry or require you to leave if your behaviour is deemed unacceptable.

  2. You acknowledge that cameras, audio and video recorders may not be permitted at certain times during the conference and exhibition. We reserve the right to advise whether this is the case at each part of the event.

  3. The Smart Energy Council films and photographs every event. You consent to being filmed or photographed by The Smart Energy Council (or its representatives) and to The Smart Energy Council using your name, likeness, image and/or voice in such photographs or films for the purpose of promoting our events, services and products. No remuneration is payable for such use.

 

COVID-19 

  1. For the most recent information on COVID-19 please visit the NSW Health Website at https://www.health.nsw.gov.au/ 

  2. You will not be permitted to enter the event if you: 

  1. Are experiencing any flu-like symptoms (sore throat, runny nose, persistent cough, shortness of breath, fever); 

  2. Have been in close contact with a person who has tested positive for COVID-19 (during the period of time in which the virus is contagious); 

  3. Have visited a hotspot in the last 2 weeks. 

  4. Are awaiting the results of a test for COVID-19; 

  5. Reside with anyone who is awaiting the results of a test for COVID-19; 

  6. Have returned from international or interstate (where relevant) travel and failed to observe the government requirement to quarantine for 14 days. 

  1. If you are not subject to any of the above conditions for exclusion you must be willing and able to agree to the following requirements: 

    1. Leave the site immediately if you become unwell, after notifying a staff member.

    2. At all times, maintain social distancing measures (as per the NSW Health guidelines) with respect to other visitors and staff, even when exiting the venue, 

    3. Maintain good personal hand hygiene by washing your hands regularly and thoroughly and/or using hand sanitiser. 

    4. Maintain good respiratory hygiene by coughing or sneezing into your elbow or a tissue, and then disposing of tissues immediately.

    5. Provide the Smart Energy Council with your name and contact details and consent to the Smart Energy Council providing your name and contact details to the NSW Department of Health or any other third-party government department, as required to enable contact tracing procedures. 

    6. Acknowledge that you may be asked to wait, or be refused entry, to the event if the site has reached its total capacity under NSW Health social distancing requirements.

    7. Respond accurately to the following questions if asked by staff:

  • Are you or anyone you live with currently undergoing testing or awaiting results for the COVID-19 virus?

  • Have you or anyone you live with tested positive for the COVID-19 virus and have not been medically cleared as non-contagious? - do you have any flu-like symptoms (sore throat, runny nose, persistent cough, shortness of breath, fever)?

  • Acknowledge the right of SEC to refuse entry or request their departure from our sites at any time and for any reason.

 

Conference Terms 

  1. The customer also acknowledges that The Smart Energy Council films and photographs every event and that the customer consents to The Smart Energy Council using their name, likeness, image and/or voice in the event that they are photographed or filmed in any media for an unlimited period without remuneration for the purpose of promoting any service and/or products supplied, and/or distributed, by The Smart Energy Council. 

  2. Views expressed by speakers are their own. We cannot accept liability for advice given, or views expressed, by any speaker at the conference or in any material provided to delegates. 

  3. The Smart Energy Council reserves the right to make alterations to the conference program, speakers, venue and timings. Details of speakers and topics are correct at the time of going to press. However, circumstances beyond the control of The Smart Energy Council may necessitate substitutions of speakers and topics for which we cannot be held responsible. 

  4. Any changes to the program will be noted on our website and you should check regularly for updates. 

  5. All additional expenses incurred by the delegate outside of the conference program are to be covered by the delegate, e.g., room incidentals, additional food and beverages outside of the provided meals, touring, activities, any additional accommodation required, upgrades, phone calls.

  6. In the event of it being found necessary, for whatever reason, that the conference is being postponed or the dates being changed, the organisers shall not be liable for any expenditure, damage or loss incurred by the delegate. In the rare event that the conference is postponed due to events beyond our control (such as natural disaster), a new date for the conference will quickly be secured.
