Shane Rattenbury MLA is the ACT Greens leader and a Member for Kurrajong. He is currently Attorney-General, Minister for Water, Energy and Emissions Reduction, Minister for Gaming, and Minister for Consumer Affairs.
Shane became an environmental advocate at a young age and joined the Greens whilst studying Economics and Law at ANU. Shane started working for Greenpeace Australia in 1998, leading a 2005 expedition to Antarctica to confront the Japanese whaling fleet, and leading the 2007 Greenpeace delegation at climate change negotiations in Bali.
When first elected in 2008 Shane became the first Green Speaker of the ACT Legislative Assembly, and the first in any Parliament worldwide representing a Green political party.
Through successive Parliamentary Agreements negotiated with ACT Labor Shane and his ACT Greens colleagues have achieved a range of positive policy outcomes for Canberrans.
