Mark Byrne has been energy market advocate at the Total Environment Centre since 2012. He has been involved in three rule change processes as a proponent to (for one win, one loss and one draw), one successful litigation and two too many multi-jurisdictional tariff structure statement processes. He established the North Coast Energy Forum, the TEC/Greenpeace Green Electricity Guide and the local energy Facebook group, and sits on four network customer councils. He is currently working on two more rule changes, on DER access and pricing and a resilience incentive for DER. So his schtick is regulatory reform of the NEM to assist decarbonisation, which means that he obviously has a heavy karma.
