Karan Bagga holds a Master’s degree in chemical engineering is an accredited chartered engineer with IChemE. He holds the position of Engineer at thyssenkrupp and heads up Company’s Green Hydrogen & Chemicals – Engineering and Technology division in Australia. He has 21 years of experience in process industry including energy, oil and gas and chemicals. At thyssenkrupp, he is responsible for furthering and implementation of thyssenkrupp technologies in the field of conventional and green hydrogen and chemical derivatives (ammonia, methanol, SNG) in Australia.
A commercially astute and a keen technologist, he has expertise in design, optimisation and operation of hydrocarbons, hydrogen and ammonia value chain facilities. He is an established front end techno-economic studies specialist for small and mega scale hydrogen projects, especially in sector coupling and end to end facility integration for Power to X facilities. He is also a key consultant on the Australian Standard technical committee for hydrogen technologies.
