Julian de Hoog is a Research Scientist at IBM Research – Australia, an Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Melbourne, and an IEEE Senior Member. He is currently applying advanced data-driven forecasting and optimisation methods to the optimal operation of energy storage systems.
Julian has previously worked with several utility partners to study the impacts of electric vehicles on distribution networks, and represented the University of Melbourne in the Victoria Electric Vehicle Trial.
Julian received the M.Sc and PhD degrees, both in Computer Science, from the University of Oxford, UK (2007 and 2011, respectively).
