    Applied Energy Storage

Super Capacitors are the holy grail of energy storage. Now their time has come to take a significant stake in the energy storage market.

About 5 years ago graphene was “discovered/invented” which paved the way for the development of the super capacitor. Graphene is uniquely thin enabling an enormous surface area to be available in a compact unit. Some very clever developers have been able to capture and enrich the graphene in such a way that the a very similar energy density to lithium ion cells could be achieved.

But why are super capacitors better than lithium ion cells? To begin with lithium ion and all other battery chemistries rely on a chemical reaction to take place to store and release energy. Chemical reactions in batteries fail over time and generate heat while in motion. Super capacitors store energy electrostatically. There is no chemical reaction and therefore almost no heat. Accompanying this is a cycle life of the cell itself of 1,000,000 cycles.

So for the first time in history, you can store and release energy for about 100 x less than a chemical battery when measuring in $/ which is the best way to check the real cost of energy storage.

Learn about the benefits and features of super capacitors. See them in operation. Get an in depth understanding of how to utilise them. Log in and see their performance over time.

3 key takeaways from this presentation:
1. Learn about the next technology to take over the world of energy storage
2. Learn how a Super Capacitor Works and why it can recharge 1,000,000 times
3. Understand the broad application for this new technology and how it removes all the barriers to energy storage.
