Canberra Institute of Technology

Academia, Education, Training

As the leading Vocational Education and Training provider in the ACT and Region, the Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT) is preparing the ACT’s renewable workforce through collaboration with industry and the community.

CIT’s Renewable Energy Skills Centre of Excellence, a simulated training facility, was developed in collaboration with industry. The most recent addition to this training facility is a 35-metre-tall tower crane providing students with a safe, highly controlled simulated workplace environment to experience the physical challenges of working and operating equipment safely at height. CIT’s working safely at heights training is critical to meet the needs of the renewables industry.

CIT delivers training as one of Australia’s first Global Wind Organisation (GWO) accredited wind safety and technical training programs meeting the increasing demand for a skilled workforce in the renewable energy sector.

Training programs in Solar PV and battery courses delivered by CIT allow licensed electricians to apply for Clean Energy Council (CEC) PV Accreditation and battery storage endorsement.

Talk to us about our options for you! We'll be waiting at the ACT Renewables Hub Booth.
